heya people i’m doing awesome,I’ve literally lost 6 Lbs my first wk with http://newtrend.tumblr.com/diets Facebook listed product. Has anyone else tried it? If not, I HIGHLY recommend!
I guess I’m just a lost soul because I don’t understand how reading Genesis 1 as metaphor makes Christ unnecessary. Whether Adam and Eve were literal people or a literary representative of all humans who decide to distrust God’s way to live and instead go their own way, it is still Christ who reconciles and restores creation to God. Creative expression in poetry, prose, allegory, etc. are beautiful ways to share ideas and truths about God and His relationship to us. Literature can be true without being factual. While I think this is an important discussion, this one, like the gay issue, has become an unnecessarily polarizing debate…One that distracts from more serious issues in our world, pitting people who could be working together against oppression, slavery, etc against each other.
Words that came to me today when I was reflecting on the cool place I am in life…
“Look at what unfolded in your life despite the tantrums and railing against the ‘imperfection’ of it! I work for you whether or not you trust me or are aware - always at work in you. When you join me in being, not striving and doing, oh the things we can accomplish!”
Amen and Amen….
“Our Lord, we know that all is well. We trust thee for all. We love thee increasingly. We bow to thy will.
Bow not as one who is resigned to some heavy blow about to fall or to the acceptance of some inevitable decision. Bow as a child bows, in anticipation of a glad surprise being prepared for it by one who loves it….waiting to hear the loving word to raise your head and see the glory and joy and wonder of your surprise.”
Opinions?
Time for a trim…What to do about the forehead…
Long fringe? Cut shorter and centered or long and swept to the side?
Thanks!
Excusing the incorrect identification of the US as a ‘democracy (it is a representative republic), dude makes some good points…
Quotable:
Christians from both political parties can be easily sucked into viewing their opponents as incomprehensible enemies whose opinions are entirely worthless. I have certainly fallen into this mentality myself. But I do believe that God has truth to offer us through all people, even those who haven’t yet discovered the freedom offered in Jesus Christ. Therefore I believe that democracy is not only the most fair but actually the most effective system of government. Instead of being caught up with helping one party beat the other in elections, I’m more interested in helping Christians of both parties act like Jesus in a climate that is anything but Christlike. As a pastor, I hope to help other Christians develop the humble openness the gospel is supposed to instill, so that we can be effective witnesses of God’s love through all facets of life including our citizenship.
” ‘Jesus is the Messiah…Sinless, supernaturally conceived through a virgin named Mary by the spirit of God, was taken up to be close to God and will be the judge of the world. He is the Word of God, He is the Word of Truth…He heals the sick and the blind, He can even raise the dead….’
Every word I just spoke is written in the Qur’an.”

Could it be that Christians and Muslims have more in common than we ever thought? Even if the two faiths never agree on everything, is there room for finding what they do so that there can be an end to the criticisms and suspicions they carry of one another?
